Changes to funding for learners living in Greater London Authority

From 1 August, 2019, there are changes to how we are funded. Nine areas in England will control their own funding. In Buckinghamshire, the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) will continue to manage our funding. This means we need to bid for funding to be able to offer learning to residents who live outside of Buckinghamshire.

Our main objective is to provide adult education to residents of Buckinghamshire. We do have a small number of learners who live outside of the county and attend our courses. The Greater London Authority (GLA) has said this number is too low for us to bid for funding from them.

This means that residents in the GLA area are not eligible for concessions for courses in Buckinghamshire. You are still very welcome to enrol but you will have to pay the full fee. If you would like to discuss further, please contact our customer services team on 01296 382403.

If you would like to use funding through the GLA, they will be able to provide information on Adult Learning providers in your local area.
