Digital Skills Courses

To help you feel more confident and make the most out of your devices in daily life and at work, we offer a variety of Digital Skills courses:

  • Foundation Digital Skills (Beginner)
Our in-centre courses help you get started and gain confidence using a computer. Foundation is a non-accredited course and will prepare you to move on to Essential Digital Skills.
  • Essential Digital Skills (Entry Level)
You will learn to use devices safely, create and edit documents and find information on the internet. This course is assessed via a practical task at the end of the course and leads to an Entry Level qualification.
  • Essential Digital Skills (Level 1)
Building on prior skills, this course takes a closer look at presentation and spreadsheet software. This course is assessed via a portfolio which you will build as you progress through the course, leading to a Level 1 Certificate.
  • Digital and IT Skills (Level 2)
This course consists of weekly online workshops, focussing on advanced functionality within presentation and spreadsheet software, with an expectation that independent work is carried out between sessions. This course is assessed via a portfolio which you will build as you progress through the course, leading to a Level 2 Certificate.

*Foundation level is fully funded for beginners who aren’t yet ready for Essential Digital Skills. Essential Digital Skills qualifications are fully funded for adults who are 19+, meet the UK residency requirements for funding and are lacking essential digital skills.
