Become an apprentice and learn while you earn!
Apprenticeships are work-based programmes designed by employers that are linked directly to specific job roles, and in many cases can even result in being hired by your previous employer at the end of your apprenticeship. It’s an opportunity which supplies young people usually from the ages of 16-24 with structured, high-quality training in your specific workplace

An added advantage, is that you can start earning immediately even whilst doing your qualification and advancing through your study, giving the real work-life experience and benefits of a real job even at a young age.
You will be eligible for this opportunity if you are over 16 before or on the date of the first of September of the previous year, A resident of the UK or EU for the past three years and are also not within full-time education.

How We Support You:
Apprenticeships at Buckinghamshire Adult Learning are highly tailored to your requirements. In order to aid you in your apprenticeship, you are entitled to receive support during your time with us.
Although we require basic English-speaking skills, ESOL learners can receive extra support. Additionally, some of our apprentices are able to extend their apprenticeship to allow for more time to complete their chosen qualification. They are better able to comprehend and excel in their level, given the right conditions are provided. It’s important to note that the apprentices must disclose any issues they may encounter as soon as possible, so that we are able to assist them to the best of our abilities. There are alternative ways to aid you through your journey, to ensure that you feel supported at all stages.
For those who choose to stay with us following the termination of their apprenticeship, you will have a chance to be allocated to a job and may be appointed a job coach to help guide you through your new position. This will guarantee that your integration into the team is as smooth and enjoyable as possible, with minimal complications.

How to Apply:
Apprenticeship Standards comprise a number of different elements. Many apprenticeships which we offer include an end-point assessment which is assessed in the workplace. If an apprentice does not have current A*-C (or equivalent) grades for GCSEs, they will need to attend taught Functional Skills sessions.

Buckinghamshire Adult Learning was also very helpful and supportive. My assessor Sarah visited monthly to check I was happy at work and to give me guidance as I completed my Business/Admin NVQ. I’ve learned so much this year and gained lots of valuable work experience that I will take with me throughout my career. I would definitely recommend an Apprenticeship to anyone thinking of applying as it’s a great way to work, get educated and get your career started.” Jacob Webb, Trinity Health
