News
Census day is Sunday 21 March 2021.
The census is a once-in-a-decade survey that provides the most accurate estimate of all the people and households in England and Wales.
In early March all households will receive a letter explaining how to complete the form online. If you don’t receive it, or if you need a paper form, please get in touch with the census contact centre on 0800 141 2021.
The personal information you give is not shared with anyone, and you cannot be identified in the statistics published. Personal records are locked away for 100 years, kept safe for future generations.
Buckinghamshire Council will be supporting the Census in a number of ways:
- Staff from Adult Learning and Library staff have been trained and are ready to help people complete the form, either online or on paper.
- Buckinghamshire Archives have invited the Census Engagement Manager (CEM) onto their monthly podcast.
- The CEM is also taking part in an LGBTQ+ online event, organised by Buckinghamshire County Museum, about the new optional questions on sexual orientation and gender identification.
