We were finally able to hold our Adult Learning Awards ceremony in person last week after two years of the pandemic.
It was a wonderful celebration of the hard work of our learners, our tutors and our support staff.
Over 60 learners were nominated for an award and their stories tell us about the huge barriers they have overcome, the commitment required, the difference that the achievements have made to their lives and, in many cases, the opportunities that have subsequently opened up.
Cabinet Member for Education and Skills presented the awards to our winners who were:
Skills Learner of the Year: Mohammed Aziz
Community Learning Learner of the Year: Elizabeth Fleeman
Learning for Personal Development Learner of the Year: Jonathan Dews
Apprentice of the Year: Scarlett Grimsdale
Trainee of the Year: Kaydon Crowe
Supported Intern of the Year: Benjamin Richardson
We also recognised our tutors and support staff for their dedication, professionalism and for encouraging and inspiring our learners to succeed. Twenty-six tutors were nominated for an award and the winners were:
