Tom recently completed his Level 2 Business Administration apprenticeship and Buckinghamshire County Council. He said this about his experience,
“I enjoyed undertaking the apprenticeship at Buckinghamshire County Council as it gave me the opportunity to join the working world. The apprenticeship allowed me to make friends that have become good relationships outside of work and also develop skills to take me further in my career. I have secured a new role as a Business Modernisation and Innovation co-ordinator and without this apprenticeship wouldn’t have had the skills to undertake this role.“
Tom’s assessor said this about him, “Having Tom in the team helped support statutory functions such as processing foster carer expenses and adoption recruitment processes. His support alleviated some pressure from the existing team and allowed them to carry out additional tasks required by the service. Tom supported with organising the Annual Foster Carer Awards which was met with great praise. “
Nick recently completed his Level 3 Diploma in Business Administration at Buckinghamshire County Council. He said, “My apprenticeship has been great; I have gained in confidence and met new colleagues along the way. The enrichment days were really interactive with other apprentices and it was well organised by Buckinghamshire Adult Learning. The highlight of my apprenticeship was being nominated for Apprentice of the Year 2019 in the WorkPlace Hero Awards. I had an interest in ICT prior to my apprenticeship and have since moved into a permanent role within BCC working with HR Systems and Business Intelligence. I am completing a Level 3 CIPD qualification in HR Practice at the moment which will lead to associate membership upon completion. This will allow me to progress within HR and move into higher roles.“
Nick’s manager said this about him, “Nick was the second apprentice the team have employed in an admin position. This role is essential in our team and we have found that apprentices see a wide range of varied business practices (i.e. systems, dealing direct with the public etc). It is a good starting point, both apprentices have gone on from this role to gain employment within the Council. Nick gained in confidence immensely and his ICT skills were an asset to our team which have helped us to streamline line some of our processes and which have continued on after his departure.“
