We are pleased to announce that we have introduced a Supported Internships scheme, in partnership with Stony Dean School, Amersham, Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust and Adviza.
The Buckinghamshire Adult Learning Supported Internship is a partnership venture which prepares young people with disabilities for competitive employment.
The first Supported Internship was set up in partnership with De Vere Latimer Estate in September 2018. The interns are progressing well on the course and the success is due to the partnership approach, the work experience opportunities provided by the hotel and the commitment by the interns (pictured here).
We are now recruiting for 10 enthusiastic young people who are focused and work ready for September 2019. Interns will complete a BTEC Level 1 Work Skills programme at Stoke Mandeville Hospital. They will also have the opportunity to study maths and English functional skills at an appropriate level with the support of a tutor and job coach.
The internship will enable young people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities to achieve sustainable paid employment by equipping them with the skills they need to work.
