Huge congratulations go to one of our former learners, Kelly Rand who has won the Buckinghamshire Dignity and Respect Award 2018 in the Learning category. Kelly was presented with her award at a ceremony on 2 May at the Oculus, Aylesbury.
Kelly was nominated by her manager Jo as someone who, despite having dyslexia and lacking direction in her life, overcame this by embracing the opportunity to work at Kent House with people living with a brain injury. Kelly used this experience to take on the care certificate which increased her confidence and led to her accepting the responsibility of being a key worker to one of the residents. This has led to both the resident and Kelly becoming confident and improving their quality of life through learning and engagement.
