Sign a Christmas song

On Wednesday 12 December, our British Sign Language tutor Marie Biswell brought together current and past learners to sign the Shakin’ Stevens’ Christmas song, “Merry Christmas Everyone”.

Marie turned 30 in November and decided to celebrate by setting herself 30 challenges in a year to raise money for Sense Holidays and A Different World Festival CIC. One of them was to get 30 people to sign a song at the same time which she doubled, with over 60 people attending including the mayor of Aylesbury, Mark Willis and some of the panto stars from the Sword in the Stone, showing at the Queens Park Centre. Marie will be signing for some of their shows.

Marie has raised over £150 so far and hopes to meet her target of £400 for each charity. The next challenges she’s set herself are to abseil down the Spinnaker tower in Portsmouth and walk over the O2 arena.
