During an online Spanish lesson, tutor Jill Feurtado invited her Spanish friend Mar, who lives in the Alicante area, to join the class for a “Question Time” activity. The learners were interested to find out what the ‘lockdown’ in Spain was like and what the Spanish people thought of it.
She asked all the students to prepare a question about Spain beforehand. Most were interested to find out what the ‘lockdown’ in Spain was like and what the Spanish people thought of it. There were questions for Mar about how she was coping with the lockdown, what she missed most and if she thought the government were handling the situation well. There were also questions about various regions and towns in Spain, local fiestas and food and drink.
The students (and Mar) all enjoyed the interaction. It was good to hear first hand the opinions of someone actually experiencing the situation and a chance to interact with a native speaker.
